Re: Battle of the Boot Predictions
I dont like making prdictions--an ethics thing--but I will say this: Lee High has home field advantage, most of their boys have never been on a losing team and thus do not have the LHS plague, the coverage on here of the Appy-Lee game was skewed at best, and Bostic knows all the ins and outs of their passing system, including those sit down routes that are now the signature and staple. Also, if you look at Robbins' track record running the ball @ 5-Star Stadium, especially with the Jones brothers, it isnt pretty.
I played for Lee HS, so I guess I have bias. However, I taught at PV, so I know their coaches better than I know the new staff at LHS. I really dont mind who wins; I just had to play the devil's advocate. I do hope it is a close, hard fought game.
Unfortunately, I am moving this Thursday: New Haven, Connecticut, and Ivy League football, here I come--boring. I'm sure gonna miss D-B, SWVA, SEC and SoCon football. Hopefully, I'll get to watch a Boston College or Patriots home game.
Re: Battle of the Boot Predictions
I wouldn't mind seeing an upset, but if lee comes with 3 TDs of PV it'll be a miracle.
Re: Battle of the Boot Predictions
an upset could possibly be the best thing to ever happen to the Vikes! Let them know early they are beatable, and bring em down to earth and allow them to play football.
Re: Battle of the Boot Predictions
Gosh, I am so sorry that you have to move up into the home of real ugly and dull football. New Haven used to have a decent college team (NCAA DII), but I don't even know if they still play. Good luck.

They also had it back in 2002, and who won that game?
Re: Battle of the Boot Predictions
And dont forget 1994 and 1996, versus Thomas and Julius respectively.
Re: Battle of the Boot Predictions
Well, although I'm from Lee, it's hard to brag much about the '96 game b/c PV was basically all sophomores. You're right about the '94 game (Lee 36 PV 22) and the '95 game was a good one too (PV 48 Lee 33). I've always thought that if we could've switched coaching staffs that we would've won the '95 game and the '98 game by 2 TD's (PV 21 Lee 18) But that's just my opinion and an unrealistic scenario!!!
Anyway, as far as the matchup Friday night, I look for PV to win by a minimum of 28 points.
